چکیده

The first few hundred Myrs at $z>10$ mark the last major uncharted epoch in history of Universe, where only a single galaxy (GNz11 $z\approx11$) is currently spectroscopically confirmed. Here we present search for luminous galaxies with $JWST$/NIRCam photometry spanning $\approx1-5\mu$m and covering 49 arcmin$^{2}$ from public Early Release Science programs (CEERS GLASS). Our most secure candidates are two $M_{\rm{UV}}\approx-21$ systems: GLASS-z12 GLASS-z10. These display abrupt $\gtrsim1.8$ mag breaks their spectral energy distributions, consistent complete absorption flux bluewards Lyman-$\alpha$ that redshifted to $z=12.4^{+0.1}_{-0.3}$ $z=10.4^{+0.4}_{-0.5}$. Lower redshift interlopers such as quiescent strong Balmer would be comfortably detected $>5\sigma$ multiple bands instead find no flux. From SED modeling infer these have already built up $\sim 10^9$ solar masses stars over $\lesssim300-400$ after Big Bang. brightness sources enable morphological constraints. Tantalizingly, GLASS-z10 shows clearly extended exponential light profile, potentially disk $r_{\rm{50}}\approx0.7$ kpc. sources, if confirmed, join GNz11 defying number density forecasts based on Schechter UV luminosity functions, which require survey area $>10\times$ larger than studied here high redshifts. They extend evidence lower redshifts little or evolution bright end function into cosmic dawn epoch, implications just how early began forming. This, turn, suggests future deep $JWST$ observations may identify relatively much earlier epochs might been anticipated.

High - Redshift Ly α Emission : Two Primeval Galaxy Candidates at z ≃ 3

In the course of our ongoing search for serendipitous high-redshift Lyα emission in deep archival Keck spectra, we discovered two very high equivalent width (W obs λ ∼> 450 Å, 2σ) Lyα emission line candidates at z ∼ 3 in a moderate dispersion (λ/∆λ ≃ 1200) spectrogram. Both lines have low velocity dispersions (σv ∼ 60 km s−1) and deconvolved radii r ≈ 1 h 50 kpc. We argue that the lines are Lyα...

Rxj0142.0+2131: I. the Galaxy Content of an X-ray-luminous Galaxy Cluster at Z = 0.28

We present a photometric and spectroscopic study of stellar populations in the X-ray-luminous cluster of galaxies RXJ0142.0+2131 at z = 0.280. This paper analyses the results of high signal-to-noise spectroscopy, as well as g-, r-, and i-band imaging, using the Gemini Multi-Object Spectrograph on Gemini North. Of 43 spectroscopic targets, we find 30 cluster members over a range in color. Centra...

Luminous Red Galaxy Population in Clusters at 0 . 2 ≤ z ≤ 0 .

We investigate statistical properties of LRGs in a sample of X-ray selected galaxy clusters at intermediate redshift (0.2 ≤ z ≤ 0.6). The LRGs are selected based on carefully designed color criteria, and the cluster membership is assessed via photometric redshifts. As clusters and LRGs are both viewed as promising tracer of the underlying dark matter distribution, understanding the distribution...

RXJ0152.7–1357: STELLAR POPULATIONS IN AN X-RAY LUMINOUS GALAXY CLUSTER AT z=0.83

We present a study of the stellar populations of galaxies in the cluster RXJ0152.7–1357 at a redshift of 0.83. The study is based on new high signal-to-noise spectroscopy of 29 cluster members covering the wavelength range 5000-10000Å as well as riz photometry of the cluster. We use scaling relations between the central velocity dispersions of the galaxies and their luminosities, Balmer line st...
